DVITP In Honour of Estella

On the 14-16 October 2008, twenty-three front-line professionals participated in the Domestic Violence Intervention Training Programme (DVITP) coordinated by the Women’s Resource Centre.

This sensitization programme was initiated by Estella Scott-Roberts and though it was a difficult time we felt we needed to proceed.

The participants were individuals from Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Department of Community Rehabilitation (DCR), Health Service Authority (HSA), RCIPS and Cayman Islands Crisis Centre. There were also school counsellors and church pastors that participated.

Overall, the training was a success and we look forward to doing these trainings more frequently. The next three day DVITP session will take place in Cayman Brac from the 20th-22nd January 2009.
