The following are regular programmes or projects coordinated by the WRC:

  • Honouring Women Month: A yearly themed event held in March that aims to highlight issues affecting women and celebrate women.
  • The Clothesline Project: This project allows survivors of all forms of violence or supporters of victims/survivors to design T-shirts as a testament to their experience. These deeply personal expressions are then hung on a clothesline for public display to air the issue of violence in our homes and communities.
  • The Domestic Violence Intervention Training Programme: A sensitivity training programme targeted to police officers, social workers and other front line professionals that interact with victims of domestic violence.
  • Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day: An event designed to empower boys and girls to envision careers without the boundaries of traditional gender barriers and educate the youth on various career options available and the challenges of achieving ‘work-life balance’.
  • Owning Up: A programme targeted to empowering adolescents and young people, either as perpetrators, bystanders, or targets, to stop violence and humiliation.
